Workers Hand Over Service – “Labour of Love” BY Pastor Ben Quaye Offei-Badu

This Wednesday was a powerful one which saw a wonderful ministration from the outgoing workers of the 2015/2016 academic and spiritual year. They sang songs of praise to the Lord for a successful end of labor in the house of God.

The church was privileged to be ministered unto by the District Pastor for Gyinase District, Pastor Ben Quaye Offei-Badu. He spoke on the topic; The Labor of Love. He made reference to the church in Thessalonica from 1 Thessalonians 1:1-3 and asked that we put our faith to work just as they did. During the sermon, he said, “Faith can work but faith works better with Love”. He said this as he was encouraging the church to work with faith, labor with love and have patience of hope just as Paul did in the first epistle to the Thessalonians.  Getting to the end of the sermon, he told the outgoing workers that, “God rewards a finished labor with another labor”, with which he beautifully used the example of an expectant mother who was in labor. He ended his sermon by admonishing the entire church not to give up when going through trouble and persecution but to stand firm and keep laboring because labor in the Lord is never in vain as it is written in 1 Corinthians 15:58.

Pastor Offei-Badu asked the entire church to pray for the Incoming workers that God would use them mightily and take away all weaknesses. After the prayer, the handing-over ceremony took place with tears in the eyes of some outgoing workers and this was described by Pastor Offei-Badu as results of laboring in love. Outgone workers then received citations for their hard work and diligence.

The service came to an end in a very spectacular way with Mr. Edwin Matthew, an Indian studying at the Pentecost Theological Seminary singing songs of praise in our local dialect (“Twi”). He took many people by surprise as he gave more than 3 songs all in “Twi”. He then said the closing prayer, with Pastor Offei-Badu giving the benediction.
