Welcome to the Personality Show where we get close and personal with the body of PENSA-KNUST. This week, we meet our very own student from Organizing Committee offering Metal Work Design. Let’s get ourselves inspired by what she has for us.

Who is behind Adu-Baah Christine?

Christine Adu-Baah is my name, I’m 19 years of age. Born at the Accra Ridge Hospital on the 10th of June,1999. I am the second of three siblings. I hail from Oda but I reside at Amasaman, Accra. I am affiliated to Independence hall. I had my basic school education at Association school and Firm Foundation, and my secondary education at Mfantsiman Girls where I read Visual Art and proceeded to KNUST where I am currently reading Metal Product design. I enjoy listening to music. People say I seem like an introvert but I am not.

Share with us your experience in the second cycle institution?

I chose Wesley Girls but I was given Mfantsiman Girls and that had me lose interest for my favorite course, Business, because I loved Maths. I am from a firm Christian background but I didn’t know God that much before I was admitted into SHS. It was there that I got to know God much better. I attended SU (Scripture Union) regularly and Pentecost Christian fellowship. While in school, a peer tried to influence me into partaking in a certain vice but by the grace of God I didn’t give in. I was part of the athletics team for my house. I enjoyed being part of the school cadet. I always had a bittersweet feeling about the SHS.

KNUST was my dream school because of the variety of art courses they offer. I didn’t love art at first but I developed interest in it way back in SHS when I pursued the course. I bought only KNUST forms because I believed I would be admitted.

Adu-Baah Christine, kindly tell us about Metal Product design?

It is about designing products like bottles, metallic beds, center tables, etc. Taking a look into jewelry, we make rings, necklace and others. We work with Coral draw where we design the products there. We use aluminum, copper, silver in molding the products after designing it. The course is fun but tiring because of the lot of practicals involved and you need to purchase all tools and materials yourself.

How has campus been from first year to second year?

I made more friends as time went on and got to know more about time management. I don’t enjoy roaming and because of that I don’t know a lot of places on campus. Campus is sometimes boring for me.

What can you tell us about PENSA-KNUST?

PENSA-KNUST has blessed my life. The teachings taught in PENSA has straightened my Christian life and now I have more knowledge about who I’m serving. I have become closer to God and very committed in the house of the Lord. I enjoy their preaching, praises and worship sessions too as well.

Amongst all the committees, why did you decide to choose Organizing committee?

I am an active person and don’t want anything that is dull, because of that I decided to join the Organizing Committee and when I looked through my capabilities, I saw that is what I can do best in serving the  Lord.

What is your take on this year’s theme and focus?

Becoming like Christ: It is following the footsteps of Christ and living an exemplary life of Christ.

Abiding in His word: Abiding is acting on the word. For you to become like Christ, you need to walk by the word of God or do what the word of God says, else you can’t just become like Christ without knowing Him. So, you need to abide in His word to imitate Him.

Which part of the Bible really speaks to you?

Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him who have been called according to His purpose.”

Who is your favourite Bible character?

Job, He is my favorite because upon all that he lost, he still looked up to God without uttering any word against Him. In that context, we can see Job had faith in God.

Who is your favorite member/leader in PENSA-KNUST?

My favorite member is Emmanuel Boahene in Prayer Force committee. Anytime I meet him, he shares the word of God with me and motivates me as well.

Who inspires you?

My mom inspires me. She is God-fearing, she loves and sacrifices herself to work hard. She is very prayerful as well. She hardly talks about herself and that inspires me to be like her.

Which sporting activity do you enjoy and what do you enjoy during your leisure time?

I love to run. I used to play football but recently I stopped. I enjoy listening to music and sing during my leisure time but I don’t have a good voice though.

What is your vision and mission in life?

My vision is to own a company where we engage in metal works and cater for the needy.

My mission is to study more and do research in my chosen field of study and to invest money to help the needy.

How did you become born again?

That was in SHS 2. A pastor came to share a word about salvation and asked those who wanted to give their life to Christ. I was moved by the word of God, and fully gave my life to Christ and became born again at that instant. I was baptized in PENSA-KNUST last year.

What should we expect from you in the next 5 years?

I would have finished with my first degree, pursued my masters and planning to establish my own company.

Are you in a relationship?

No. I like to live a single life for now.

Are you targeting any guy on campus or outside the borders of the school?

What is your take on students who are single and feel anxious about it?

What I know is that when someone is in the university, the person seems matured to get his or her future spouse probably in the university or outside the borders of the school but when it happens when one has no partner, he or she gets worried that it will take a long time for him/her to get a future spouse and be inexperienced. I understand them a little in a way because they are afraid.

What do you look out for in your future spouse?

The person should be God fearing and faithful. The person should be gentle as well. I have no specific physical qualities though.

What’s your motivational quote?

Determination and hard work gives success”.

Please do you have any testimony to share with us?

I lived in a vicinity inhabited by people who engage in all sorts of social vices but by the grace of God I am not influenced by these bad behaviors and I thank God for that.

Do you have any proposal for PENSA-KNUST or improvement you want to see?

The Ushers should welcome people in a nice way. Also, the microphones should be worked well on since there are breaks in it during church services and that makes it difficult for people outside to hear what is being said inside.

What advice do you have for the youth?

I advise the youth to hold on to God and also focus on their vision in life. They shouldn’t be easily influenced by the things of the world. God should be their number one priority and involve themselves in Christian activities as well.

Thank you very much for your time. God bless you.
