Welcome to the Personality Show where we get close and personal with the body of PENSA-KNUST. This week we meet a handsome gentleman of the church, Anoff Anim.

Who is behind Anoff Anim?

My name is Yaw Anim Ntow Anoff. My dad decided to shorten it to Anoff Anim before BECE because he thought the name is too lengthy. Anoff is a final year Biological Science student, an affiliate of Unity Hall and an entrepreneur; I’m into popcorn, drinks and pastries making located at KNUST Jubilee Mall. I am the third of four children. I hail from Koforidua in the Eastern region. I had my basic school at Trinity Presby Model School and had my secondary school at Pope Johns Senior High, both at Koforidua. I was born on the 7th of December,1996 at Koforidua but I currently reside at Dansoman. I love reading, researching and listening to music. My friends usually say I am fond of myself but I see if I do something that is good, I become happy with that and I am happy about that. I dislike ungratefulness. I am an extrovert and jovial. I like to be around friends and when I am around my presence is felt.

Share with us your experience in the second cycle institution.

In Pope John Senior High School, I became very close to God because I came from a firm Christian background. SHS transformed me because I had the privilege of being the SU Vice President and because I was introduced into numerous fasting and prayers, I was exposed to the midnight prayers and fasting and that has been with me till now. SHS has been so remarkable especially with the things of God. I met a lot of friends, some who tried to influence me into occultism but glory to God I didn’t give in to them. I really liked dining and mining as well. I was a General Science student.

I had not been to Kumasi before, so I thought being in KNUST would be the best opportunity for me to explore and also read a science related program. I haven’t regretted choosing KNUST. KNUST was my first preference among many university forms I bought but by the grace of God I had it.

Anoff Anim, kindly tell us about BSc. Biological Science?

It is basically the study of nature, comprising of all living things and their relationship with the environment. I am a disappointed medical student and I resorted to Biological Science because that medical dream is not quenched yet.

How has campus been from first year to final year?

First year wasn’t too much of experience because I had very few friends who were my room mates. It was then basically about my books and I but from second year, I had lot of friends in the faculty, hostel and PENSA as well. So, we had fun, went to a lot of programs, a lot of drink ups, swimming lessons. In first year, because the style of teaching was quite different from the SHS approach, I was finding it difficult to find my feet but in second year I had formed a study group, had study mates and an academic mentor who was of great importance to me. My final year is very young but very stressful, with regards to research, projects works, assignments, presentation, etc.

What can you tell us about PENSA-KNUST?

It is a wonderful family with spirit filled people. I love their teachings, their semester themes and focus, their style of worship; its an amazing one, humble but effective leadership and semester program with my favorite being Drama Praise. I will like to use this opportunity to invite everybody to Drama Praise 2018; I Surrender All.

Amongst all the committees, why did you decide to choose Music and Drama Committee?

Because I am a lover of music, dancing and drama. I couldn’t choose any other committee than Music and Drama. Its members are amazing and very active in PENSA services. So far, it’s the best committee I know. Shout out to all Kings Praise members, praise is what we do, yooorr.

What is your take on this year’s theme and focus?

Becoming like Christ: As Christians, our greatest example is Jesus Christ, so I think becoming like Him is imitating Him as the author and finisher of our faith. So in whatever we do, our going in and our coming out, the thoughts and deeds of our heart should conform to the nature of Christ. In whatever we do, we should always ask ourselves, if it was Jesus would He have done this?

Abiding in His word: The infallible word of God is our constitution as Christians. Hence, we should not only be hearers of the word but doers of this same word. Before we can abide, we should know what the scriptures say and that can be done by regular studying and meditation of the word. I will always say, whatever the bible says we shouldn’t do is for our own good.

Which part of the Bible really speaks to you?

Habakkuk 2:3,the vision is yet for an appointed time and even though it tarries, wait for it, for it shall come and not fail”. Its all about endurance and waiting patiently on the Lord for His promises are ye and amen.

Who is your favourite Bible character and why is he/she your favorite?

Joseph. I love Joseph because he faced brutalities from his own brothers and yet stayed focus and true to God. What I make from that is, as Christians, we may suffer rejections and dejections from our very own, but amidst all of this, if we stay true to God, He will glorify us in due time.

Who inspires you and why does he or she inspires you?

Kofi Annan, I am inspired by his commitment, his patriotism and achievement. He is academically sound and one of the few who have made remarkable history in Ghana and that inspires me to do more in achieving great.

Which sporting activity do you enjoy and what do you enjoy during your leisure time?

I am a great fun of football with Messi as my star player. I love singing, listening to music during my leisure time with Joe Mettle as my star artist and I love reading as well.

What is your vision and mission in life?

My vision is to be a medical doctor with my own hospital and be a stout Christian. My mission is to help others with my resources, especially the work of God so do I pray to be helped by God.

How did you become born again?

I was born into a Christian family, so my mum led me to Christ at a Pentecost Crusade when I was 7 years old where I declared the Lord as my personal savior and became born again, but I followed my friends to the Presby church where I attended Sunday school and youth meetings until after SHS. I decided to come back to the Church of Pentecost. I was then baptized in first year.

What should we expect from you in the next 5 years?

I would have completed my National Service and my MSC and would be pursing my PhD by then. My entrepreneurship business has moved across all the malls in Ghana by then.

Are you in a relationship?

Yes, I am with a young entrepreneur. Very humble and serviceable in the house of the Lord.

What is your take on dating on campus?

It has to do with maturity. Once you are matured and you have found your feet with regards to campus life, then you are good to go. It should be with a person who shares in your dreams and aspirations. So, it isn’t bad to date on campus but it is what you do or do not do that often makes it good or bad because a lot of people have been bless through dating and the lots have also made very great mistakes.

What do you look out for in your future spouse?

A God-fearing woman, academically inclined, hardworking, prayerful, supportive, and romantic.

What’s your motivation in life?

I get motivated when I see young people coming out with creative ideas to achieve a lot in life. I often get inspired and it quickens the creativity in me to even do more.

Please do you have any testimony to share with us?

I had a prophecy last year of travelling abroad, at a time when I was facing financial crisis and it was more than impossible and the prophecy coming from a new converted bad boy who use to be my friend, tempted me to disbelieve. I however prayed about it and waited on the Lord and to the glory of God. By the grace of God I travelled to Russia for my internship this year. So, I would like to urge each and everyone to hold on to his or her prayers, for every prophecy from the Lord concerning your life shall surely come to pass.

What improvement do you want to see in PENSA-KNUST?

I look forward to the completion of our building site which will be able to accommodate all members.

What proposal do you want to make to PENSA-KNUST?

I want to appeal to the leadership of PENSA-KNUST to involve more ladies in the executives because I believe once the person avails herself as a vessel, she can be used by God. Some positions shouldn’t be necessarily narrowed to males only.

What advice do you have for the youth?

I implore the youth to be purpose driven because it is at this stage that we can accomplish most of our dreams. We should use the social media wisely and take our spirituality serious and the Lord will see us through.

Thank you very much for your time. God bless you.
