Ladies Week – “GROOMED INTO HIM” BY Mrs Theresa Baah Enum

On the 2nd of November 2016, which happens to be our maiden ladies week for the 2016/17 academic year, PENSA-KNUST was honored to be ministered unto by Mrs Theresa Baah Enum .

Mrs Baah has served as an executive member as well treasurer for PENSA-UCC in the year 1990, where she earned her B.E in Social Studies and also  holds a PhD. in planning from KNUST. She currently works with the Planning Department of this same institution.

The  theme for the ladies’ week is “Groomed Into Him“. She was so overwhelmed by the monstrosity of attendance of members at the midweek service. She was grateful that in spite of all  the academic pressure on campus, members defy all odds to be present to serve God .

She began her sermon by reminding the congregation that anytime we proclaim our slogan “Christ in you the hope of glory” it means that we are in the state of grooming. She further moved on to assure the church that the glory of God is still available ,it depends on how we serve Him.

Her scriptures were taken from Hebrews 2:10-11 ESV, Ephesians 2:1-3, 8-10 ESV, Romans 6:5-8 ESV, Ephesians 7:13-14. John 15, Ephesians 4:17-19, Philippians 12:2, Romans 12:1-2, Psalms 28:1-2

She posed a profound question to the body of Christ.” How is it possible to exude the Christ in us”. Are we exuding  Christ during exams by cheating, gossiping, speaking ill of someone etc.?

You can never be a Christian without salvation, she said. A Christian is somebody who lives like Christ.

She continued to conscientise the church that Christ is not ashamed to call us his brothers and sisters but due to our double mindedness and the sin we always find ourselves in every day, we are ashamed to call Him our God.

There is a thin line between Christianity and the secular world today. She used today’s secular music as an emphasis. She was concerned about how every secular song has its own Christian version. Sin is soo rosy in today’s world that they call it a mistake and believers are no longer scared, she retorted.

“It’s easy for one to call him/ herself  a Christian but living a Christ fulfilled life is a headache for most people”.

She further moved on to profess that though it is good for Christians to embark on evangelism, believer’s should also remember that judgement begins from the house of God.

She also beseeched believers to go back to the basics and take not their salvation for granted. She expressed her worry of how Christians today try to impose their timetable on God. But in spite of all those lackadaisical lifestyle, the father is always gracious unto us.

“It scares me when a young Christian comes to me and say God has failed him” , she insinuated. She also admonished  Christians to continue to express the Christ in their life because their salvation is a gift from God and therefore they need to be thankful to God for that.

  • You are free from the shackles of sin. Romans 6:5-8
  • You become one in Christ. Ephesians 2:13-14
  • You experience a new life in Christ. Ephesians  4:17-19
  • The holy spirit comes upon you.

She never disputed the fact that sometimes the things of the world look attractive and tempting but irrespective of that , children of God should not walk in darkness. 1 John 5:1-7.

She concluded by saying , “the more we are groomed into Christ, the more blessing come our way so that one day we shall all make it up there( Heaven). Amen!!!!.
