Sunday Service – “Called Unto Holy Living” by Apostle Samuel Yaw Antwi

Help Share the Word

The population census of 2010 showed a staggering 70% of the people being Christians in Ghana. But Christians all around the world are losing the sense of the secret. When Bible says we must be Holy in all that we do, it means we must set ourselves apart for God’s use, because He who has come to indwell us is Holy.

Some reasons why we need to be Holy…..

  • We serve a God who is impartial. He judges everyone according to a certain standard.
  • Our salvation is free but not cheap. And hence, just like an expensive gift we need to be grateful to have it. If we want to know how sacred this salvation is, we need to consider the cost. We need to account for anything of great value.

God’s demand on us is to forsake our old ways of doing things which we brought from the world, the minister mentioned. (Ephesians 4:17-19). We are warned to discontinue our old ways of life. A duty to set ourselves apart from the things that defile us. As His children, God expects us to live out our salvation, the speaker added.

The man of God gave an analogy of the candle in his sermon. Just as a candle is useless in the light, our righteousness can only have relevance in darkness.

The possibility or otherwise of living a Holy life has always been yes. The word of God is the mirror we look into to change our lives. We should let our yes be yes and our no be no.( It is difficult but not impossible), he emphasized . 1 John 1:7-9.

Our nature is not to sin, our nature is to be Holy in the midst of corruption.
