Richard Agbenyenu

Welcome once again to your weekly personality show where we are up close and personal with the body of PENSA-KNUST. Today we meet a wonderful and handsome gentleman from the Bible Study Committee, relax, read and enjoy what he has to share with us.

Who is behind Master Richard Possible?

Richard Possible Agbenyenu is my name. A final year Sociology student with Economics as minor. Currently the University Hall President, I’m the second of seven siblings from the Volta Region but I reside in Accra. On the 30th of May 1995 I was born , thus 22 years of age. I think I am an introvert but one who is sociable. I’m quite gentle and ambitious. I’m positive minded in everything I do.

Share with us your experience in the second cycle institution.

I read Business back in High School . It was difficult for me because I was quite smallish by then in Worawora Senior High School. Due to this my colleagues tried bullying me. I was the then PENSA Secretary while I was in second year. Even with this I was the overall second best student of WASSCE in my school. My aspiration to be the school prefect wasn’t realised due to the clash of batches.

What was your reason for choosing KNUST?

I gained admission into the University Of Ghana to read Business Administration, but I preferred KNUST to Legon because of my hall of affiliation, University Hall (Katanga Hall).

Master Richard Possible, kindly tell us about your programme of study.

Sociology and Economics. Sociology is actually a course that tries to understand the social structure that we live in and tries to give meaning to our life we live as individuals. Economics makes us understand that there are scarce resources and there is the need to put those scarce resources into judicious use.

How has life been on campus being in your final year?

Life on campus is quite interesting, most especially in the University Hall, where you get to meet your colleagues during the usual morale sessions and get to watch football matches in the TV room. On the side of academics it’s very difficult especially when it gets close to exam periods, where you have to prepare for exams aside fulfilling your religious duties, going for PENSA meetings and services.

What can you say about the structure of PENSA-KNUST?

Because of the comprehensive size of PENSA KNUST, I really admire the way the church is sub-structured into committees. I frequently tell my friends that if they really want to enjoy the church then they should join committees.

Amongst all the committees, why Bible Study Committee?

Because I would like to delve more into the bible.

What is your take on this year’s theme and focus?

Walking In The Will of God: In our quest to worship God, all we need to do is to walk in the will of God.

Abounding In Good Works: Taking from the life of Christ while on earth we would realize that all he was doing was good works. As believers who want to be like him, we have to learn from His ways.

Which part of the Bible really speaks to you?

John 8:32 which states “…and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”(KJV)

Who is your favourite Bible character?

Timothy; I like Timothy because looking at the task given to him, regardless of his age, he was able to complete them all.

Which sporting activity do you enjoy and what do you do during your leisure time?

I enjoy everything about football. Most at times I play games during my leisure time.

What is your vision and mission in life?

My vision is to be a life changer and my mission is to help solve societal problems.

How did you become born again?

I was born in a Christian home, where we normally go for children service. I fell in love with the Bible stories and I decided to give my life to Christ from there.

What should we expect from you in the next 5 years?

I should be done with my PhD and working in a reputable company in the next five years.

Are you in a relationship?

Yes

What makes her attractive to you?

Her simplicity baffles me.

What’s your motivation in life?

I believe in myself and trust God that anything I do will be successful.

Please do you have any testimony to share with us?

During my elections, we were five aspirants, after the election I came up as the first runner up. Unknowingly the winner of the elections was not qualified for the position due to some circumstances. I was rather declared as winner for the elections.

What improvement do you want to see in PENSA- KNUST?

The church should hasten the construction of the building site as soon as possible.

Any advice for the youth?

My only advice is that, life is quite difficult and it all depends on you to make it or unmake it. So if you’re doing something make sure you do it and do it well

Thank you very much for your time. God bless you.
